Corallo

Fostering the cycle of the ocean through biodegradable bath accessories

Corallo is a brand consisting of 100% biodegradable bath accessories products based on a circular economy. By partnering with four major islands in The Bahamas, the brand sources the raw materials(seashells) from local restaurants and resorts.

Every year 14 million tons of plastic end up in the ocean and more than 1 million marine animals are killed every year because of plastic pollution. As designers, we thought we could make a difference by starting to eliminate plastic from the items we use every day and while traveling.

Sustainability & Design

Corallo bath accessories set encourages zero waste to the ocean and offers a sustainable option for people who enjoy traveling to create a plastic-free beach environment.

Our team chose to design bathroom accessories set made completely of seashells biodegradable material to combat marine pollution that is destroying our marine ecosystem.

Biomaterial Exploration

By exploring different formulas to bring our bio-material to life, we were able to find the perfect recipe to make it suitable to launch two product lines.

The biomaterials are from locally sourced seashells - from local seafood restaurants, resorts, and hotels in The Bahamas, mostly mussel shells, and clamshells.
