01 The Problem
Almost 3 million animals get euthanized every year
Many dogs that are currently located in the shelters may not get exposure to potential adopters due to limited public exposure only through shelters’ social media or once-a-week adoption events, and could be chosen for euthanasia should the shelter exceed capacity.

Who is Furi for?
The app is for Brooklyn store owners who are dog lovers and own a dog-friendly store and have extra space in the store to borrow to shelters to become a dog halfway stop.
How does Furi work?
The app will show local store owners a list of shelters in the nearby area, local store owners can browse through this shelter information and choose which dog shelters they want to build a connection with. After the store owners decide to participate, they will be asked to fill out the survey to inspect the store environment and customer type, and their preference for the type of dogs that will be put in the store.

Onboarding Survey
The app starts by asking users (Brooklyn store owners) their store location and what type of store they have in order to customize the search results of shelters nearby.
Local stores who partner with the Furi program will get a sticker to stick on their store windows, so visitors can immediately recognize if the place is dog-friendly and supported shelter dog adoption.
Search & Filter Dog Shelters
Store owners can filter shelter results by distance, dog breed, dog age, and dog size.
View Dog Shelter Information
Store owners can view detailed dog shelter information by clicking on its individual page, where users can donate money to the shelter, view the adoption and euthanized rate of the shelter, and their environments.
